they're good for ~320hp. It is a pretty good transmission for a stock mustang but if you're pushing a decent amount of power, look into a T-56 if you're going the 6 speed route, or a TKO-600 if you reallly want to pound the crap out of the tranny without worrying. Personally I like my T-45, it shifts very smoothly, and takes all I can throw at it

I have a stock T-45 in my 96 Cobra. 414RWHP and 366RWTQ. No problems, and I drive the car hard all the time and go to the track all the time. I love the smooth shifting and it is a quiet. I am adding the methonal injection kit to the car so I can run 14psi. It will make over 520RWHP, I will not worry about the trans either. The only thing that really hurts a stick trans is missing gears, and speed shifting.

midway through 2001 they switched from the T-45 to the TR-3650. The TR-3650 supports more power, but had shifting issues which have been adressed in a recall

I beat the snot out of my T-45 and it's fine, whines in second gear but not bad for a tranny thats probally seen 1000 powershifts.

launching the car on slicks from 6200-300 casued me to breatk a tooth on the tranny gear with my t45. I'm right at the 300 hp mark. Tech tremec rates that tranny to a max torque capacity of 325 just for your information
