Hey guys! I have changed the bolt pattern of my 1978 mustang II to 5 on 4 1/2". Summer is rapidly approaching and I blew my load on the brake up-grade, I need to find some inexpensive wheels. Stock V6 Mustangs had 15" wheels. My questions:

15" x what???
what is the back spacing??
(1994-2004)

Thanks Jason:SNSign:

Mines an 04 and the stock wheels were 16" X 8". Don't know the stock back spacing though cause those wheels are long gone.

Either you changed the date of the car or I miss read it so never mind.

My car originally had 15x7s on it. I'll look at them when I get home and give you the backspacing and offset.

I replaced the stock wheels on my '97 V6, and I still have the original wheels taking up space in my garage. No sales are allowed in the forum, so email me if you wanna talk about the wheels.

Performance Limit

I have a 2001 with stock wheels, and I am thinking about upgrading. What is the largest rim I could go to without sacrificing performance? 22's are obviously too big, but are 18's or 17's the best way to go? I also want to lower it an inch or so, and stiffen up the chasis. Thanks for any ideas or personal experiences...

i'd recommend 17's if you are gonna lower it that way you won't have to run a super low profile tire like you would with the 18's and lowering it. i've got 17X8 Silver Bullit wheels on my DD 00' with 255/45's and they look awesome, i think it would be perfect with about an inch drop.
