I have to park my car outside in the grass for the winter. What should I do to help preserve my car in the winter. I heard that parking a car on dirt will rust the underbody. Would putting wood under the car help this? I'll probably be putting a car cover with a tarp on top of the car to block the snow. Any suggestions?

def. a car cover. make sure its on there tight. un hook the battery. i would get some gardeners slate blocks and put them under the tires, but i don't think you really need to. as for the wood i don't know. i wouldn't want anything rotting under my car over the winter, unless its fresh wood.

I saw some really neat car covers the other day.
You drive onto it, then zip it up like a ziplock bag. That should take car of most things mother nature can throw at you.

The ground retains alot more moisture than concrete, so I would be kind of concerned about it. Throw down a tarp or a big piece of particle board and put on a car cover. Or be like me and put it in storage for $129/month.

I put a tarp under my car, parked it up on 2x12 blocks, wrapped the tarp up under the hood and hatch, and put my car cover on top of it all but theres water in my car that seems to be coming in thru my sunroof that has never leaked before. Darn cover was supposed to be waterproof. pissed me off.

I would be mindful of wrapping the car top/btm.....you seal the mother up all around and its gonna sweat bigtime...sweat equals oxidation... Its gotta have airflow around it....I wrapped one up tight once like that...BIG mistake...
If i had to leave it out like that...i would get some blocks and get the mother in the air some, use a "good" cover and hope for the best...if its up in the air some it should be cool...its the body being 4" off the ground thats gonna catch all the condensation from the grass....Not good...
