She just died, it seems like no spark because I smell gas and it turns over so I know evrything else works, but no start or even coughs. Could it be the coil? I stuck a screwdriver in the wore and turned it but did not see anything. Someone else was watching so i dont know how much to trust thier eye. Please let me know Ia ms tuck in a bad hoopd with no one to help and limited time on the car I borrowed. What other module could it be? Any ideas on how to test?? I am trying to work 2 jobs to catch up on rent and I need this puppy to run or I am homeless.....

Thanks,, Back in one hour

Could be the ignition module on the distributer or the coil. Let it cool off then see if it will crank up. If so probubly one of the 2 I mentioned. Where are you smelling gas? Maby it all leaked aout thats why your smelling it... LOL, but seriously I've never smelt gas when trying to crank a non running car. Can you hear the fuel pump prime when you turn the key?

also, after cranking like that, if you crank with the gas pedal floored, it will clear flooding.

dont forget the pick up in the dizzy. that is assuming it is spark related. good luck.

Thats what it was...& it takes a special tool to get to it or a 7/32 long ass 1/4 inch drive.
Thanks again guys, you rock.

Typical TFI horror story -- they always fail at the worst times. One of these days I'll start carrying a spare with me along with the tool to change them.

LOL I was thinking the same, I already carry a 2 ton jack cause my last one broke and almost crushed my head...
The jack only weighs ten pounds & I have a aluminum skinny as a spare
