i have a '66 coupe, 302 and a rebuilt c4 (10k miles on it or so). everything runs great, however, if i don't drive the car for 10-14 days (i work from home so not uncommon) the c4 will dump fluid on the driveway. this is ONLY when the car hasn't been driven or moved in about ~2 weeks. what would cause this? it never leaks a single drop when it's driven regularly, and i've crawled under to double check. any thoughts?

That's not unusual for these older transmissions. The old seals tend to dry and shrink up from lack of use, but then swell up once they have fluid circulating again.

it more than likely leaks out the tail shaft seal. i have seen this on my own cars. just drive it more often, problem solved.

The last 3 C4's I have had, leaked from the tail shaft seal. Usually when I parked on an incline and not driven them in awhile.

Although mine seemed to leak a bit faster than a couple of weeks.

Another common leak point is the seal for the shift lever.
