Have a 2001 GT with about 89k miles. The engine is basically stock with the exception of an aluminum intake that was added after the heater hose nipple exploded. The problem isn't the intake because this issue was happening before the replacement piece was installed. Under light accelaration or cruising the car surges/misses between 1400 and 1600 rpms. Unhooking the vaccum line from the EGR valve and plugging off the line and valve cures the problem. But of course the check engine light comes on. Also with the EGR connected normal, disconnecting the electrical connection from the vaccum solenoid cures the problem also. I cleaned the EGR valve and tested it, and it looks to be working right. That didn't fix the problem. Also replaced the vaccum solenoid which didn't fix the problem either. The car seems to have excellent vaccum at idle. (21 inches) And the car runs fine everywhere else. Power is good, idles good. Real head scratcher. Hoping someone may have a suggestion out there.. Thanks.
