Hey guys, I got around 2000 grand to spend on parts. I was debating between a 347 stroker kit with nitrous or a supercharger. What do you guy think I should do considering the mods I got allready. I'm looking for the most power possible

Since you already have the heads, i would buy a sportsman block, and a forged 347 rotating assembly. Will be maybe 200 more dollars than what you have. You then have to get the block machined though. Take your time, 2 grand is a lot of money. I would take the route that gets you to the 347 fast, just because i want the bigger cubes :p

Hmm, I would not say all of that, I just bought a sportsman block & it cost $1800 alone then a 347 stroker kit costs around $1100, that's $2900 already with out the $750 - $1000 in machine work & then you got all the other little things like freeze plugs, oil pump, girdle, oil pan, seals, gaskets, etc, etc & then you still got to put everything together & have it balanced, etc, etc.

what about calling up chp or a similar company and getting an estimate of a shortblock with a sportmans block?

i paid 1800 for my 331 shortblock with all forged internals, including crank. personally since its a bigger project i would do the shortblock first. then if you want the power later on do the blower.

your forgetting with a blower, its an initial 2k+ for a good one, then fuel system, all the supporting things, then getting it tuned. i think they about even out.

i chose a 331 na stroker over a 306 with a small blower. very happy with that choice.

The Ford 8.2 deck 302 Sportsman is a joke and total waste of money, it is a glorified stock block.

The DART Sportsman is a ver nice piece that will take you well into the 1000hp range. Ray I hope this is what you got for $1800.

Hold on, whats tha difference between a 331 and a 347?? They both come from a 302 block, right?

Yes, both are a 302 stroked and bored. The only difference is the 347 is bored more, giving you more cubes. It's not actually a 347 either. I can't remember the exact number, but they round it off because it sounds better to say 347 than a 346.433 or whatever.
