Well with my accident last fall, I need to put alot of money into the body so only alittle is left for performance. I don't have the money saved up just yet for everything so I was thinking. Could I just build like a 331 or 347 bottom end and throw the stock heads and intake on for a couple months? How would that run? I know it would be greatly restricted but would it cause any other driveability issues? Anything else I should at least buy for now? injectors, mass air etc? Thanks

It should run fine, but you may not gain any power.

I'm building up a long block, complete down to the harness and sensors, so when it's time to change, there will be no part swapping between motors. I will have a spare motor for smog, and if I ever have to sell the car, I'll take out the expensive part. Also, knock on wood, If I grenade my stroker, I'll have a spare.

It will not cost much more, especially if you find a good complete donor motor for your buildup.
