Strong gasoline smell

Hello,

Sometimes when I start up my car, I smell gasoline coming from the exhaust. It is a very strong odor and usually disappears within a minute after starting up my car. I don't think it happens all the time but it happens. A few months ago I had the dealer change the fuel lines because they were corroded. I also noticed that right after that, it was taking the gas meter 20-30 min to get back to F after filling up. Even before getting my fuel lines replaced, I had taken my car to a quick lube place and they replaced my fuel filter with some off brand one. Maybe all this could be somehow related to that fuel filter?

Any suggestions? I mean, what are some reasons for why I might be smelling gasoline from my exhaust?

Thanks.

You should return to the dealership that performed the original service work. Even if it was the fuel filter, this is not something you want to play with. Main chain lube shops are the last folks you want replacing your fuel filter.

Good Luck.
