I just recently purchased a Steeda strut tower brace and was trying to put it on but I can't seem to get the plastic cowl piece out without it wanting to break. What is the best way to get it out? I realize this is a dumb question but that thing is a pain in the a**!

You just ain't pulling hard enough. It will pop right off and you can't break it. It is held in place by those stupid little "push pin" screws. You may damage a few but you can pick them up at any auto parts place.

I will give you some pointers that will help you a bit:

1 - Steeda gives u the option of bolting, or threading (by tapping) the screws to the strut covers. You want to thread them. It is a royal pain in the ass to use the bolts (as I did), because it is hard as **** to get you hand all the way up the backside to hold the nuts. Almost impossible! Get the correct tools as the instructions decribe, and thread tap them in.

2 - There are two bolts that go to the firewall. The one on the driver side is impossible unless you have a swival-head ratchet. And then it's still a pain, so be prepared.

That's precisely why I didn't install my own.. I have very little patience, so if I feel I'm getting frustrated... to the shop we go.. And I did! I feel for you dude... I feel for you...Good luck!

Now that's one smart guy! Probably cheap to put on if your doing springs at the same time.
