i am wanting to get a strut tower brace but i cant find one that will clear my intake. I have a vortech(saleen) intake with a 1" spacer.Are there any braces that will clear that?

what ones have you tried?

tip: if you have a local parts store close, have them order ya some, dry fit them in their parking lot. if it fits, buy it, if it doesnt... dont.
thats what i did at my local parts store, but the guy that works there is cool though.

i don't think any 3 point braces will work.. but there may be a 4 point that will

i havent dry fitted any but by the pics you can tell there is no way they will clear

Maximum Motorsports is supposed to "clear any intake". I have no idea if it will but its something else to try. I recall Steeda offering a 2 point 351W strut tower brace, might work since it doesn't go near the intake.

I used an MM brace with a Cobra intake and about 3/4" spacer. The brace did not come over the top of the intake, it was off to the side. I think the vortech is wider though?

I did like the MM brace. The only reason I don't still use it is that it does not clear the dist on the 351w motors.

Sorry,
Traded it and some used LX tail lights for a good t5.

i have a strut tower brace on my car it came with it... just wondering what does it do? just for letter handleing? keeps it more stable? will i notice a differnce if its removed?

Helps control body flex, creaking, reduces associated noises.

Helps your alignment.

Paired with subframe connectors, it will make your 10 year old car feel very firm, and strong.

I was scared to drive on inclined driveways, and entrances to 7-11, but after the subframes, and strut tower brace, it really helps with flex.

I have a crack in the plastic on the a-pillar from body flex before the Full length sub frame connectors, and STB.

Very wise investment for Vert. owners.

Hence, did you have to drill holes for mounting that brace... I am seriously in need of a front brace. Last summer I cracked my windshield after having some fun in the car!

As Hence stated about the brace: The Fox body chasis is very flimsly compaired to newer vehicles. The added bracing helps control most of the flex in the front end when the suspension is loaded. Corners and inclinded driveways in particular become much easier to manage! Oh and it will hopfully prevent me from cracking another windshield.

i did the same thing with my windshield,that is why i am bracing it up.im gonna get a strut tower brace and subframe connectors,maybe that will help

Yes, 6 holes total, 3 per side on each strut tower. The firewall connections are bolt in only.

I used an electric drill, and a very dull bit, it took forever. I bought new hardware from homedepot, and bolted away.

Disconnect the battery when installing.
