I've had Eibach Sport Springs on my car for almost a year and i j/ got an alignment. I heard a clunking sound took it back to the shop and they believe it is internal with the valves or oil. What should i do. Are the stock strut/shocks meant to fail when you lower it sooner or later? Should i replace the one or get all new performance ones. I dont feel like spending 400 bucks right now.

Well, you can put Gabriel SVT struts on it from AutoZone that cost about $42 each. That is what I did and they seem fine to me.

I think that to fix it properly though you need to get struts that can handle the lower springs.

I am not sure about what those would cost.

I can tell you though that changing the front struts is easy to do yourself especially if you have an air impact wrench. If you do it right you do not even need to get it aligned. However if you have not had it aligned in a while it IS best to align after any front end suspension work.

As for the rear shocks they are so cheap and easy it is a no brainer: just replace 'em.

stock shocks are meant to handle the stock spring rate, one you go stiffer you are putting more abuse to the vavling inside, get a perforamance variant. look around before you purchase.

With just the sports? No it's not needed. I run Sportlines and still have stock struts. The geometry isn't off much either.

what about eibach proline struts.
I have the proline springs and strut package installed.
I think sport line drops the car a little more but the combo should still be better
than stock struts. The added spring rate does work the strut more, you don't
want to change them twice.

Maybe to you they are not, but to someone else, may find that to be a good deal. Monroe replacements from your local Auto Parts store run $60 a piece. You said your peace, I said mine, now move on.
