Hey, I am at work and my battery died. It's shot. So, I will come back tonight w/ a new one. But I don't remember what size socket I need for the battery hold down!! So, if someone could send me that info I won't have to bring a slew of tools w/ me. Thanks! Eric

I just did it on my '90 Sunday. My hold down bolt was a 5/8". The batt clamps themselves were 1/2".

The stock battery hold down bolt is 8mm I believe. As long as it is stock...

Maybe it was 8mm, and my 5/8 just fit it OK.

I think you guys have different hold downs because last time I checked, 8mm and 5/8" were no where close (latter is larger).

8mm hold down. 1/2 inch for the terminal nuts. I have an INTERSTATE MTP-65 battery, its a snug fit but works great.

Agreed, 8mm and 1/2. I have only had to do that about a hundred times because I have a draw that I have yet to fix and sometimes forget to disconnect the battery when storing the car for a while.
