Ok here's a good one, i bought a set of new edlbrock 4260 elite valve covers, and i didn't do my reasearch, apperently they do not fit stock 5.0 efi intake, now what i am asking you guys, is there anyone out there that IS using these with a aftermarket intake that fits? there really nice looking covers, but now i will have to sell them off if i can't find a intake that fits and matches my cars setup. Sorry for such a moronic question. Next time i think i will do my reasearch better, hopefully there is a way to get these suckers to fit. thanks once again for taking the time to read this.

LiquidGT-=> they are stated as being 2" taller than stock, i was wondering about a bbk intake but the egr is located under the intake on a bbk ssi intake. i was going to go with a bbk ssi and a 3/4 spacer, but i still don't know if that will be enough, and i don't want to have to spend that much on a intake just for pretty parts.

dmc919-=> lol, no that i can't do, there still new in the box. it will really piss me off if i have to sell them. but it's looking that way.

On the stock intake the throttle linkage is about 1/2 inch from the stock valve cover, can anyone tell me how much room on any of your aftermarket intakes??

from what ive read and heard, the ssi is a pretty cheap intake. idk what your combo is, but ide go with a trick flow or systemax and a spacer and they will clear fine, if you have a taller hood...

+1, you'll likely run into hood clearance issues if you start trying to squeeze them in by using tall intake spacers. I've heard mixed reviews with the BBK intake, but I also had a friend with one and he seemed to really like his. I just don't personally have a lot of faith in BBK stuff anymore.

If the VCs are brand new in box, can't you return them? If not, new-in-box parts usually sell for close to their full value on ebay...

i bought them off of a classifed, so returning them is a problem, looks as though i will have to sell them. buy a set of cobra valve covers.

thanks guys for all the help, i guess i should have checked into them before buying them, assumed because they were for ford sb they would fit. Well i guess they would if i was running carburated. o'well.

Yea, you have to look for EFI specific VCs if you don;t want to have to modify anything. The oil fill location/design is also EFI specific.

yeah, these i will be selling, what a pain in the arse, well i guess i should have looked more into what i was buying. thanks guys for all the help and info. i'm going to look into a set of cobra efi valve covers.
