I can't make up my mind. A buddy of mine says roll cage but I like the looks of a speedster cover and i don't think you can have one with the other. And i am also not sure of the rules if i decide to take it to a track will i be able to run with out one if im in the high 13's.. I kinda think the styling bars are a little cheesy but they do make the car look good especially with that tonnaeu cover

Would they even care if you run 12's in your vert without roll bar or roll cage? When I went to the track with my vert stock for the first time... no one come to inspect my mods.. they just asked what mods I have. At this point, I can just tell them I just got new mufflers instead of telling them that I have a blower and then they just let me go..

After each run.. I just go around and come back and make another run.. nobody questioned me about anything else..

Well...IMHO...Stylin Bars aint cheesy and and coupled with the Speedster...it honestly looks great. Get the light bar. But I really think it all depends on your usage of the car.

Don't be a hater!! Go with the Style bar bro. If you have a vert, you bought it with one thing in mind, To LOOK GOOD. I only have a 98, and I think it looks even better on a 99+. If your worried about rolling, you shouldn't be racing!
Fear causes hesitation and hesitation = seeing the rear end of a ricer blowing past you.

i'm contemplating the same thing but i am leaning towards the roll cage because i like to race and the car already runs 13's and i'm sick of dialing in at 14 and sandbagging. does anyone have pics of roll cages in a vert. the kenny brown looks descent and does not compromise the driver and passenger entrance.

I think that roll cages look nasty in convertibles. I'll be in the 12's next weekend, I'll tell you if they throw me off the track or not.

if you bracket race, they will not let you dial in under 14. i think the rule changed that you can run time trials under 14, but you can race.

styling bar is useless weight...its a styling peace and not safe if u roll the car

well not exactly...

while they won't really help much in a roll over, they do stiffen up the body a great deal and they really reduce the number of random squeeks/rattles/misc noises so common in unibody 'verts...and while it's not a 'real' rollbar, it is a big piece of steel bolted to the most rigid piece of the car (the door pillar) so it certanly can't hurt...(but product liablity issues keep any of the light bar makers from mentioning that)

it definately depends on the track and what rules they follow. englishtown raceway park in nj definately follows nhra and you cannot dial in under 14.00 with a covertible and no roll cage.
Wel that sucks because that is where I usually race. Have you ever been to Island dragway??? They are having a Mustang vs. Camaro Shootout on the 21st, and I plan to run there. Do you think they will throw me off for running a low 12?
