I ordered the MM's and they are on the way. My local guy is going to do the install for $150. That's a good deal in my opinion. I have full faith in him. He knows Foxbody as good as anyone, trust me on that!

They are all about the same. Box tube and round tube perform the same. Don't overpay.

I painted the Mm subframes today. Drop it off tomorrow to be welded up. I also put in the Prothane front isolaters today. The front coils are SR Performance 1.5" drop. The rear are stock springs with isolaters still in. I think I got it just about right now. Drives very nice. I can't drop the rear or the 285's will rub.

Thanks David. It's original paint and not without the typical flaws. A "20 footer" as they call it.

I assume you only painted the tops of the subframe connectors? Car looks pretty good, I have 295s on my 93 and with a minor bit of work I was able to get it lowered nicely

Thanks

I painted the whole subframes. The installer knows this. He will remove paint where needed to weld. Then, paint over the welded spots when done.

How did they turn out? I forgot how much they change the car until recently on my T top. One of the best mods ever!

"Mustang Man" has the car now. He'll probably get it done today. I'll keep you posted.

Report on the subframes installation;

The installer who has extensive experience with foxbody said my car's body had no signs of stress in the usual areas. He says these subframes will now prevent any of that in the future.

In driving the car I notice it feeling a little sharper when whipping side to side in sharp turns.

I described previously how it had felt squirrily in hard straight line acceleration. Almost like the rear end was slightly steering the car. That feeling is gone now. It pulls dead straight. I noticed something new as well. In full throttle 2nd gear pull, the right front lifts slightly higher than the left. You don't really notice it until you let off. Pull hard in 2nd to the redline and let off, when the front drops I can tell how the right side was up higher. So I guess the driveline tq is doing that. Anyway, I had not noticed that prior to the subframes install. I assume tq twist is no longer absorbed by a flexing unibody. Thereby I notice slightly more lift on the right side of the car. I only notice this in 2nd.

Here's some pics under the car. Sorry it wasn't on a lift I took them. Some pics are upside down

I used stifflers...well made...have a webbing/croos bracing that mates against the factory pinch weld to provide a spot to jack up the car which comes in handy from time to time
