Sub Frame Help

Hey everyone, I need your advice / help on subframe connectors. What do you recommend? Bolt on or weld in? Brand / manufacturer? I will be putting them on a 95 Cobra. TIA

Weld in whatever you get. I would suggest making your own.

Making your own can be a PITA, IMO. If you make your own, I would use round tube steel. The torsional strength and rigidity of round compared to square or flat stock is like night and day.

Kenny Brown has nice ones. Maximum Motorsports is great. MAKE SURE THEY ARE WELD IN!! get the seat bracket braces as well. full length subframes are better, tubular is better.

I have the KB full lengths welded comepletely in. Get full length whatever you get and weld them in.

I got custom subframes... Go from the front to the back (full length thru floor) I love mine. Also got Custom Battle Box also with the deal and tow strap bar installed. I'll take a video this winter and post it... When I jack up on any side of the subframe (no joke) 3 wheels come off the ground at the same time.. I could really tell a difference with mine and my 60ft went down. Custom is the only way to go.

I have Global West full length, tubular subframes with the seat tie ins and they are the best subframe connectors I have ever personally seen. I hear they are similar to the MM ones... these are your two best choices.

I have MM full lengths, love em, tubular is awesome until you try to put a jack on them. If I were to do them again I would like tubular but my maximum motorsports ones are great and easy to install accept for those damn little flanges you have to weld all over them! lol Ohh yeah dont waste your time with shorties or bolt ins.

gonna order some next month along with rear upper/lower conrtol arms. are the tubular conrtol arms stronger then boxed?

Here's what a full lenght sub looks like : ---I---

You weld each of the long end. The little "bar" bolts to 2 bolts that are already under the car. Those are already holding the seat. Look at the pic. I "squared" the "seat bracket" .

The seat brackets are crossbars that connect to your seat bolts or something like that. They run perpendicular to the subframe connectors. They are supposed to help with lateral movement. All I know for sure is that after I got mine welded in, it was a whole new car. Almost NO body roll at all. Definitely worth it.

Mavrick, get full length weld-ins with the seat brackets. Either Maximum Motorsports, or see if anybody can custom make them. I had mine custom made and they are SWEEEET!

I think this has been answered, tubular is supposed to be stronger, but square I think is easier to find and install. Plus I think it's cheaper. Either way, as long as it's full-length and weld-in, omg you can't go wrong.

lemme know, I got Heavy Duty Global West tubular full lengths (inside) w/ boxed outer rail connected by 4 crossmembers & w/weld on seat brackets. Got these for the 94-95 coupe brand new in the box, but I have a Vert and have these left over. The set for my vert are amaxing (but heavy). rward@hotmail.com
