Subframe Advice Needed

I'm looking for a set of Subframe connectors. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are the three that I'm considering. Let me know if you have any good/bad experiences with any of these.


Competition Engineering #C3045 weld in (right now these are at the top of my list because they appear to give the best ground clearance since the weld into the subframes instead of on top of them)

Steeda #555-5245 Full Length Sub-Frame Connectors (these are second on my list since they appear to be the strongest of the three)

HPM Crossbar Subframe Connectors from 5.0 Resto #HPM-5400-AZ (and these are on the list mostly because they are cheap, but I'll probably not buy these because they of that)

You will find that all 3 of those will work about the same. The thickness of the steel being the key.

I have ones similar to the ones on the bottom but they are zinc coated like Steeda's. They work fine.

I bought a set of HPM. Mostly because they are cheap and there store is locate in Omaha (30 mins from where I live). Whatever you decide make sure they are WELD IN connectors. I wouldn't go with CE b/c they don't have the flanges to bolt to the bottom of the seat bracket. Steeda has them but you will have to weld them = more work.

I have the HPM, so do a couple of my friends. They work great and support the seat well. Do be sure to use the bolts through the rear seat mount and bolt them to the sub-frame connectors. It helps keep the floor from flexing and the seat from moving around.

Also I second or third the weld in option. The bolt in are just a waste of time.

Remember that the frame rails that you are welding to are much thinner than the subframe connector so go easy on them. They burn through very easy if you go for too fast.

i've got the crossbar style also.i got mine from blueoval industries for $40.on an average street car they serve the purpose as long as they're welded in.

I'd have to suggest either Steeda, Maximum Motorsports or Griggs Racing. I did some research on'em a while back but decided to just stick with mine (FMS tubular).

I installed the Maximum Motorsports full length, mucho difference afterwards
