Subframe Connectors

I plan on getting some subframe connectors for my car...what should I get....full length or standard connectors?...which ones fit the best? Thanks.

Most people will recommend the full length pieces since they tie in more of the subframes. My car came with the shorty style connectors already installed so I can't give you a before / after but my car feels very solid.

Maximum Motor sports is probably the way to go....

What it through-the-floor? Do these come with instructions on where to weld them? Thanks.

No question the wolfes are the strongest, but they aren't really necessary for the average street car, the extra cost would far exceed their value.

I second.

When I got my LX, it had 3/4 lengths in it. I didn't think they were cutting it so I had them cut out and replaced with the Global West full lengths. Believe it or not, I did notice a difference. Your chassis will thank you.

Well I've been looking at the Global West subframe connectors and they seem to be the best price, but should I get the seat supports also? Thanks for the help.

Yes get the seat supports, a hole from lack of support in the floor is a MF'er to fix. And the supports are good preventaitive maintainance.

3rd vote for GW subframes ...
Ditto on the seat supports as well.

Whatever weld in brand you buy, make sure to get full lengths.
More area along the subframe that is supported the more rigidity you'll have in the chassis.

I wouldn't get anything too fancy (expensive) if you are planning to stay moderate with the car.

Im either going to get the MMs or GWs and have the local muffler ship weld them in...their lift raises the car setting on its tires. As long as the car is setting on its tires...I guess I can just weld them in and not worry about the body being out of line? Thanks for the help.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I'm thinking about SFC's in the spring also. I'm not familiar w/ Global West. Are they better than MM? Or is it a price issue? Just curious.

The GW subframes require a lot less welding (can save labor cost if a shop welds them in for you). As far as better I can't say because I haven't own a pair of MM to be able to compare.

Both companies are good and I've never heard any complaints about either brand .... only that the MM's require a lot more welding with the individual gussets.

from what i've researched about SFC's, tubulars don't provide as much strength as boxed ones do.

That's something that has been debated for quite some time. Bit more to it though, like the thickness of the material used.

I'm a fan of the MM's, but i've seen more than one set rusted to hell. So spend the extra for the powdercoating.
Never seen a ruined set of GW's.
Not to mention i believe it's easier to tie a roll bar into the Gw's.

So if i were to get the global west ones, a muffler shop can weld them in for me? wouldnt you be worried they woul botch it some how??i was offered (250$$$) from a shop that said they would custom make and install SFC's for 250. Now i asked if they were full lenth and the guy said they "are long enough." now before everyone starts saying this guy is shady blah blah blah, i have seen them (although for only instances at a time) installed and they are square tubing (not sure of thickness) and the welds look robotic they are so good. I will have to check them again, what do full lengths run from and to? any pics? otherwise ill just buy the global west ones.
