depends where you go and who you deal with, how good the fit is, if they have cross mounts and so forth. I've seen people say they paid $50 all the way up to hundreds.

Years ago I had custom SFC's made for my car w/cross-mounts and paid $150 for a friend who ran a fabrication shop to do it up good.
 
i am a welder by trade ! if you were close to me id say bring it over and i would do it for you! but your not! so you can probably expect to pay anywhere from 50$ (low end) or up to 150$ (high end) ! it all depends on how much prep work is involved for the welder! is the car rust free? if not there could be fab work to do in order to weld them in! so you would be paying more! in any case i wouldn't pay more than 100-150$ for it! if i do work out of my garage i charge min 20$/hr even if it takes 5 Min's its 20$! hope that helps you a little bit ! i paid about $70 (CAD) for mine to get welded on, even though i'm a welder. i took it to a shop so it could be done on a drive on lift. just not enough room for me to do it on the ground, and you want the car to be sitting level, not jacked up. it's a really simple job. all they have to do is buff off the underspray and paint (which takes the most amount of time), then a couple stitch welds that maybe take less than 5 min. dont let them jerk you around on the price. shops like to overcharge when they do "performance" work... i'd say between $50 and $100 would be reasonable.
 
I know this is off topic but I had mine welded in a couple years ago, just wondering what the proper proceedure is for welding thick metal (SFCs) to thin Metal on the car?

who ever is doing the welding should know to throw most of the heat into the thicker SFC's and not the metal on the car. anyone with even a bit of welding experience would know this... you just concentrate the puddle on the thick material, and weave into the thin stuff, just enough to get a good bond without burning through.

Both of the Mustang specific speed shops by me want $250 to weld in full length subframes.


I had standard length ones welded in my Cobra for $75 but the place I had it done won't do it anymore.

Thanks for the info as it was for my own curiosity, mine have been welded in for a few years.
