what are some of the differences appearance wise between models of 99-04?

such as spoilers, hoods, emblems, decals, wheels, etc.

main reason I ask is because my brother also has a 00 4.6, however I have a feeling that it may have once been a V6. his hood is different(like a GT hood, but lacking the top cowl piece), no GT emblems (just horse on fenders), and it has the black dotted line under the door (not all the way accross though). I think the wheels may be V6 wheels as well, but not sure.

I'd also just like to know some of the differences, like 99-00 spoilers are different than 01-04's and things like that.

99-00 look like v6's imo, you have to really look at them to tell if they are a gt or not

Sounds like a '99. Concave scoop, tail spoiler not wing, 35th edition with pony emblems, but GTs do not have 16" wheels if I remember correctly.

Maybe the whole car was pieced together...?

actually some of the 99-00 GT's came with 16" rims and top out around 110 or 120mph

The 01-04 have different sidescoops also...

Maybe someone removed the GT emblems & replaced them with a V6 emblem....What do u mean by "dotted lines under the door"...

This is pretty much what a stock gt would look like, except the scoop on the hood and I think this one is a little lowered.

99 came with a flush hood scoop, and side scoop, round running pony fender badge (35th anniversary), clear headlights, and an n shaped spoiler. Some came with 16" wheels that are the same as v6 wheels, and others came with 17" wheels.

00 same as above, but GT emblems instead of the anniversary emblem, and 17" wheels standard.

01,02, 03 buldging hood, and side scoops, new spoiler that's shaped like the pi symbol, and smoked headlights.

04 same as above but a round running pony emblem (40th anniversary) instead of the GT. Polished 99/01 Cobra wheels were optional.


can't think of any other differences at the moment.

Ive never seen a GT that came with 16" wheels, except for 94-98's of course...Does anyone have a picture of one of these models...Just curious.

I lose . Was typing that off the top of my head .

The wheels are the same as v6 wheels.

^ that looks just like his, only the fender emblems are running horse only. not 35th ann. I have 35th ann. his are just the horse with the rectangle behind it, sort of like the dash emblem on the fox bodies. (I think they had that anyway)

his is titled as 2000. mines a 99. he does have the 16 inch wheels.

What do u mean by "dotted lines under the door"...

almost like the saleen lines under the door, that sort of fade towards the rear. but different, not the same as those and it obviously doesn't say saleen or anything. I thought that was on the v6's but I'll go take a pic when I get a chance.
