Suddenly, my clutch feels funny

hey all

Its been stormin its butt off for the past few days. I drove my car rather quickly through a big puddle a few days ago, by accident, because i didnt notice it until i was already in it. The car drove fine afterwards. I drove it home and it sat for two days, and now my clutch engages really weird. It makes a groan noise and becomes jittery about halfway down. The trans is also having trouble getting in gear sometimes.

The PO told me i have a BBK adjustable clutch quadrant on my car. Dont know what cable. I put a new king cobra clutch and new flywheel in about 40k miles ago. Ive actually been wanting to adjust it, tighten it up anyway for this reason, but now im a little worried about the jittery, groaning action of the pedal.

Whats going on?

TIA

hmmm this is a hard one:scratch: but it sounds like you got some road grime and water on the throwout bearing and it might be chattering/scoring the bearing retainer. not much help but might help you nose the issue out. kinda had the same issue when my throwout bearing was miss guided from a broken clutch fork and chattering on the bearing retainer. also is your clutch fork cover still intact?

Adjusting you cable might help. Maybe it even moved on you, or freyed some. It might just be a coincidence, though, and possibly your clutch is nearing the end of its life. Driving style plays a big role in how long a clutch will last.

I can see the throwout bearing making noise and chattering, but I'm not sure that it would make it dificult to change gears. I still think it might be the cable or clutch. I could be wrong though.

Does it feel like you have to release the pedal further before the clutch engages? If you push the pedal into the florr harder does it go into gear easier?
