Hey all,

I have a '90 GT which I am installing a 5 lug conversion on using '94 spindles and '99 calipers. I need to get some brake rotors and new pads to finish off the conversion. Which ones have you guys had good luck with?

I definitely want ones that are coated or plated to prevent rust. My Brembo blanks currently on the car rusted within days. Slotting or cross drilling would be nice but isn't essential (yes I know it does more for appearance than for performance on a street car). I was looking at the Roto Tech and Cryo Tech brands so far.

For the pads I have always been a fan of Hawk HPS but was wondering if there's something similar out there that makes less dust. They do stop well and are quiet, but I have to wash my wheels constantly.

Any suggestions? I would like to stay under $75 each for the front rotors, and under $75 for the pads (daily driver, no point buying anything too nice when it'll get used up just the same).

My combo consists of Summit Racing cross drilled and slotted rotors, and EBC Green pads. I am very happy with that setup. Alot better than stock brakes.

The rotors look great, and the EBC Green's stop great cold and hot. Minimal dust also, and what dust is produced comes off EASY.

Rotors were about $60 each and the pads right under $80. Easy install.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

How are the EBC rotors? They have some nice slotted or drilled & slotted ones for a reasonable price.

Has anyone tried the Hawk Ceramic pads? They're supposed to be lower dust than the HPS (which I believe is about the same as the EBC Greenstuff).

I have the same conversion on my 81 notch. PBR front and rear calipers, 5 lug converson.

I bought Raybestors Ceramic pads front and rear. 44 dollars each. After a tank of gas in the city, I have no brake dust. I can't believe how clean my wheels are. They also stopped great.

I have semi-metallic on my 96 Cobra.....NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY THOSE!! I have to wash my wheels constantly!

Go on ebay and search ROTORPROs. They make zinc-plated rotors for a decent price.

I know a few people who run them and they are holding up fine to some abuse. I was thinking of ordering a set of 13" rotors for my front brakes.

For pads...i use Ford OEM. Decent performance and very low dust.
