My wife's first car is a 96 v6 5speed car with 230K on it. As a graduation gift for completing her masters, I want to drop in a V8 making around 450 at the feet and be able to put it on the ground. This is my first big project and I have serveral questions about how to do it for the right money. Any postive feedback will be greatly appreciated.:flag:

This has been asked on multiple threads. Here is one example of the swap:

As you can see from the description and the pictures this is not an easy project. Especially if you are a first timer. I have done a good amount of projects on my mustang but I cannot comfortably say that I could do the entire swap myself.

I would recommend one of three options:
1) You do the swap with someone who knows mustangs really well or is a certified mechanic.
2) You have a professional do the swap (big time labor costs)
3) You do as described above and buy a newer GT or cobra (or one of the 2011/2012 v6's :D )
