SUPERCHARGED BEAST

I Just had a vortech installed on my 2k gt. i was just wonderin if anyone had any insite what this thing might run, i ran a 14.3 with a stock setup. that was with 234 at the wheels, now its at 324 with some 4.10's in the rear. pretty much a stock setup suspension wise.... also, what kind of tuner would u guys use, a solder in chip, or a programmer?? i need to tune this thing hardcore!!! thanx

call Tim at Modular Powerhouse ....... or check with KenB over at modulardepot.com .....you should be closer to 350-370 rwhp range ....
 
well i just had it installed last week, no other programming. i didnt have the aftercooler installed on the car, a little too much for my pocket. But i didnt even see the car on the dyno, so i dunno if the guy is jackin me around or not...? but i would have though i would have been at least a 100 to the wheels. next i have to figure out what kind of programming i can do with the air fuel mixture and all that jazz..
 
4.10'S In the rear arent that bad, it definitly is an improvement from the 3.55's. 1st gear isnt that bad, u could def. start off in 2nd. but its just that feeling of getting rear ended when u slam it that makes it worth while. as gas mileage, it doesnt make all that much of a difference. i would def. go with the 4.10's if ur makin up a car with some serious mods.
 
4.10's are not bad they do give you that rear end collision feel and you only lose maybe 1mpg. Some people just don't feel comfortable with the way they feel. I won't use them unless I do a 6 sp swap. I like being able to use first gear. Kind of hard to do with a blower and 4.10's.
 
Tim, aka Cobra Killer, of Modular Powerhouse (formerly T&J Performance), is arguably the best tuner for modular cars around. I just had him do a tune for my car. I ordered the SCT reflasher. No chip is needed. He'll put 3 tunes in it for $500. He put a valet tune in it so that if I take it to a shop say for an alignment or something, they won't be able to beat and bang on the car. It doesn't allow the engine to spin past 3000 rpm. It also has a street tune which is what it will be on 95% of the time, and a race tune incase I want to run it at the track with racing fuel. He's made over 600 rwhp from a 2v with stock heads and intake! That's insane! Plus their customer service is second to none! Give them a call, you won't regret it.

Dammn!! im sure he can produce 600 hp from a 2v but you better beilieve that your plastic intake and 400hp rated stock block will crack like a swollen knuckle. where is Mod Powerhouse by the way????


as for the gear situation: trust me i have driven a supercharged stang with 3.73's and one with stock gears, and i must say that the ride withthe stock gears is much more enjoyable for me at least.

They are in Georgia. Actually that number was achieved on an S281 Saleen. It still has the stock heads and intake, just like the ones on a regular GT. The shortblock has been forged of course, but nothing has been done to the heads or intake. I have never heard one bad thing about this shop. Seems as though everyone that goes there leaves as a satisfied customer. Case in point, someone from NY shipped their car down there to have a bunch of work done to it, and when it was finished they went down to pick it up and drive it home. When they were close to home the car started acting up and by the time he got within 2 miles of his house he had to pull over and have the car towed the rest of the way home. He called Tim immediately and Tim told him a couple things to check. The problem wasn't fixed so he called Tim again and Tim gave him some more things to check....They did this a couple times...until Tim said screw it, I'll come up there and get the car and bring it back to my shop to fix it. That's well over 1000 miles!! Tim went and bought a brand new truck to haul his trailer to NY to pick up this guys car to take back to the shop. When he got there, he looked under the hood of the car and fixed the problem within 5 minutes. If that's not customer service, I don't know what is. That's the shop that I want working on my car!!!!
 
Jerry Wroblewski is another big mustang tuner.. he definitely knows what to do.

Also - get 3.73's for a supercharged car - i had mine installed probably about a month ago and they are great. puts the car in the powerband faster than the stock 3.27's and i had it up to 140 with no problem. dont ask what the rpm's were because i only looked down to check my speed :)

Before you keep beating on it .You better have the tuned checked or get a tune..If not kiss your motor good bye..

Also i hope you are not running the supplied fuel pump with the blower kit.Again another NONO.. :notnice:

Im with procharger gt-- jerry w @ SCT is a great tuner and so is cobra killer..
 
2004 Aviator fuel pump is a drop in replacement and works great , just drill a couple 1/4 inch holes in the sides of the bucket .... so it doesnt pump the bucket dry and keep a quarter tank or more of gas in it when you are hard on it ......
