i have a 2004 mustang gt with a stock 4.6 with no air silencer, mac flowpaths and a mac pro chamber h pipe. i want something under the hood that everybody is gonna be like damn look at that. i was looking at a vortec supercharging system but they are like $3800 and i twould be a year b4 i can save up to get it. do i wait and get the vortec or start putting on small power adders such as cold air, throttle body, tb spacer, cam, headers, a chip. and if small power adders what first. any info is greatly appreciated.

well---dunno what to say--if u lookin for the "damn look at that" effect--i would say go with a tornado..other than that...i would go with the TB and plenum combo....the headers will help later when u get the blower--and u will have to get a custom tune anyways with the blower so leave the chip for now too....
plus--the tb and plenum compliment the the exhaus mods u've done...dont forget the K&N drop-in filter instead of the whole CAI---although they do look badd ass and might give u the look you're going for.....

ditch the prochamber and get full lengths on it , TB and plenum are good , if you have to have a CAI get the K&N FIPK , waste of money my opinion , stock K&N is good enough . gears 410s for NA and 373s if you are definitely going to put a power adder on it . nitrous would be another temp option till you get the blower money and dont rule out a KB or novi 2000 either on the blower deal . timing adjuster and underdrive pulleys are good if you are staying NA too , might as well stay away from them if you are getting a blower though .

Following the 12 second N/A GT instructions will give you a harsh ride. If you have another car to drive everyday it's fine, but for the daily driver, like myself, it gets to be pain in the ass everyday, back and forth. I get a lot of thumbs up with looks and sound, but the ride plain out sucks.

Yes and no! depends on the person. I'm an all out drag racer, I really don't mess around on the street at all. At this point, I'm ready for a KB Cobra with spray for the street only. But it's just because I drive the GT back and forth to work everyday. When I get a beater, I'll appreciate it again.

That's why I went the supercharger route...I still have everything in my car and drive it everyday.

if you want to go N/A, it requires alot of suspension work and alot of gear to get low E.T.s. you can make decent power, but you need to remove the heads.

the advantage of being blown is that you can make a ton of power. something N/A 2Vs can't do (relatively speaking). so you can use power to go fast rather than a drag suspension and short gears. i prefer this method. it gives me all the comforts of the stock Mustang plus a crapload of power. my car will hit 12's easily on a corner carving suspension.

i hope i explained that well enough.

Yes, but there's nothing like running 12.50's N/A next to a blown GT that ran 13.0's

i would start doing the small power adders like l/t and intake stuf first. all of this stuff does add up. so does the price unfortunatly. but you also have to remember if you install a supercharger, your engine will blow. it will only be a matter of time. the stock rings can barely support 5-6lb of boost, let alone 8-12. if you want a supercharger make sure you have 3-4k left over for a new engine just in case. but i guess it could happen to anyone. i blew a ring in my n/a 260rwhp bolt on gt. and i know people that have run a supercharger on their car for a couple of years with moderate problems. so it's really a crap shoot.

if you want everyone to say "Damn, LOOK AT THAT!" go with a 427 or a turbo, or a turbo 427. that would get me to say damn
