im going through my list of crap i NEED to get the car going with the SC.

im at a crossroads on some stuff here, i can't find specifics.

electric fan; i have a dcc controller with a mark 8 fan now. from what i've read/seen on my car, there isin't room for the crank pulley. is there a fan that people commonly use with sc applications? ive only found 2-3 year old references to flexalite fans that dont work with the part # anymore. im aiming to run 400-450 max rwhp. so i need a good fan, i'd like it to work with my dcc controller too.

breather setup. i currently have tfs valve covers. setup like stock, line from the filler to the tb vacuum line. stock pcv. what should i buy without getting too complex that works best for this? put a k&n filter on top of the filler and get a oil seperator? who sells the seperators im after?

im gonna have 42# injectors/maf, 255 in-tank, from what i understand im good to close to 500 rwhp with the intank. do you guys concur? ignition i have msd distributor, msd coil, good wires. i'm told to save the $$ from a 6al cause im getting a dyno tune. anything else? feel free to throw it out there. i am trying to do this right, but on a budget. so for right now, no unnecessary purchases if i can avoid it.

setup; stock shortblock, old casting tfs heads, systemax intake, tfs 1 cam, all bolt-ons, vortech si with 3.33 pulley, t-5 trans is the final setup.

A fan out of a v-6 ford countor works good. I run one with my s-trim. I bought one new off ebay for 100.00 and just made my own mountin brackets.

i would go with 60lb injectors. i'm at 98% dc after 5500 rpms and with your set up you will be pushing higher numbers.

Mark fan won't fit. Contour fan fits like a glove between my 3 core, and s/c crank pulley.

I use two open ford racing breathers, one in each v/c. PCV blocked off. No issues whatsoever at 10lbs.

I run #42's but if you haven't bought em yet go with 60's. I'm indifferent on the 6AL, I have a rev limit in my tune but I use the 6AL with a 2step for the track so it's a neccessary evil.

I run a 3.33 pulley and see 10lbs with a powerpipe. You may wanna go to a larger pulley to start ya off.......

i have 42's coming with it, so i'm gonna use them as long as possible.

which year contour fan? is it the dual fan one or single? i cant find any cfm ratings to help aid in my decision.

10 lb with a 3.33 pulley? damn! without a powerpipe, i'd see 8ish lb's then? what do you run for heads/cam?

Well I dynoed at 475 to the wheels with 42's, no problems, safe tune.

Late 90's contour, twin fans. Fits like a glove, it was almost as if they were built for the fox rad. Do some searching on these fans they are well liked.

yeah saw 7lbs with the stock 3.8 pulley on my paxton 1220SL and pipe, then 10lbs with the 3.33 and powerpipe. running wimpy performer 1.90 heads, nx264hr .512 lift cam. Upgrading for next year however.

Ran my car for two years like that till recently popped a head gasket. Was only running 9333Pt-1 head gaskets and arp bolts. Going to head studs next time round.

solid info, thank you.

i am going to find a fan from the JY and see if i can get my DCC controller to work with it. im horrid with wiring lol.

i think im going to stick to a turbo coupe pcv valve, with inline filter. then a breather on the filler tube with capped off line to the tb. if that doesn't work, i will run a remote reservoir setup, as my valve covers already have AN fittings off them.

i have unknown head bolts, unknown head gaskets, on an unknown mile shortblock haha. it had great compression before 50 passes at the track this year. it still holds great oil pressure and doesnt appear to be burning any oil at all. so i'm throwing the blower at it to start. i will make adjustments as needed.

ps; the guy at vortech said the 3.33 on my S trim is stock. he said its designed to make 8-10 lbs. so with my trickflow heads, systemax intake and tfs 1 cam. i'm hoping its closer to 8 psi.
