I was thinking about saving my money and gettin a 10 or 12 psi charger but wasn't sure. Where does it mount? From the pictures ive seen it seems to be where my altinator is right now. What is the FMU? Would my holley 600 be ok to use on 10 psi? What problems should I watch out for while using a supercharger? Im just looking for general info to get me goin on it.

Here are my specs:
84 Four eyes
302 stock rebuilt heads/ rebuilt motor, holley 600, edelbrock rpm intake, MSD 6AL ignition, MSD distributor, bbk equal length chrome headers, off road H pipe with resonator, KYB all 4 corners, tremec 3550 pro 5.0 shifter, auto-spec clutch, 235/50/16's =)

Thnx

Well procharger, which is the cheapest when doing a carbureted blowthrough setup, mounts it where the A/C is. You can either keep the A/C or get rid of it, and it you want to save the powersteering you can relocate it with a kit from them. Do you have forged pistons in that thing, and what is your compression ratio. I am currently running a 14 lbs Procharger in my 342 with forged internals in my 85 Mustang. Talk to extreme velocities about a carb hat cause you dont need that whole carb enclosure. You also CANT use a Vacuum secondary carb which I'm sure yours is unless you changed it. Go with a 650 to 700 double pumper. You can run 10 psi safely as long as your bottom end is good. Make sure you have either hyper. or forged pistons and a main support. That should be good enough, and the best part is the atomization from the carb acts like a mini intercooler which can cool the air by as much as 50 degrees. You also have to modify the carb if you do this setup. It needs nitrophyl floats, and you need to mill off the choke setup. Hope this gives you a good idea of what to do. Scot Rod
