Supercharger whine

Hey I can't hear my supercharger whine on my 03 Cobra like I can on all the videos I watch on the internet. The car is stock aside from an SLP catback exhaust. The exhaust is not that loud. I hear a little bit at low rpms but when I floor it I don't really hear it. Does the extra loud whine that I do like by the way come with the smaller pulley????

I have asked the same question regarding lightnings. I think it is the smaller pulley that really makes it scream. I have the SLP and at full throttle and higher RPM's, the charger sounds like a JET.

What do you think of the SLP, is it loud mouth??

Three things contribute to overall supercharger whine. First is an open element, under hood air filter. The stock airbox & filter are designed to reduce the supercharger whine! The 2nd is a smaller pulley, some pulleys even have holes drilled in them that change the whine somewhat. Last is a different type of belt. I've heard that goodyear belts whine more than gates? not sure on that myself...

Always the truth from the Mr Meat! Doesn't hurt to do the hood blanket mod (cut out the opening the same size as the cowl opening) or remove the blanket altogether and click back the cowl flaps. Now with the open K&N FIPK & open cowl when I find the bottom of the pedal the thing barks rather than whines. Really loud scream almost, the higher pitch even can be heard over the headers and I can't hear worth crud. It plains scares anyone that gets "The Ride".

Didn't even think about that! Yup, I would have to agree! Anything that reduces the material between the intake and your ears would increase the volume of the whine. I have the hood mod done on my car and I didn't even think about that contributing to the overall sound.
