I want to run 6-9 psi on my 347. I have aluminum heads w/ 190cc ports, typhoon manifold w/ 70mm tb, and all the other little bolt ons. It is at about 10.5:1 compression. Just wondering if I sould get a supercharger, or get nitrous? I have hyper pistons, so I will need to get a good tune for the spray. And I think the compression may be a little too high for the blower. Has anyone tried supercharging w/ high compression pistons?

too much comp. as it sits. it can be done but with forged pistons and race gas all the time. u could have the heads ported to open up the combustion chambers to 70cc and use a thicker gasket to get down to 9.5:1 to 9.75:1.

I would just throw a 50 shot of nitrous and keep the rwhp around 400 to be safe with hypers.

Im thinking of running a zex wet kit. I think this would be the safest kit. Also I want to run the MSD SCI box w/ nitrous retard. I will definatly get it tuned before I use it. Im thinking of running 75-100 shot. I really want to get into the low 12s high 11s.

I guess the supercharger will be out of the question.
Thanks.

Stock block? That might be you limiting factor more than anything. What HP/TQ are you putting down now? S/C at only 7psi or so I think could be done with a if well tuned.

Im not trying to be an a$$, but how do you know they arnt reliable? Ive heard a million stories about people destroying hypers w/ nitrous. I think if you know what you are doing and get it tuned right they should hold up. My dad is a sales rep for speed pro and Keith Black. He has been around race cars for probably 25 years.

If they dont hold up, then I guess I will have to get a new block and forged pistons like I should have in the first place. I just didnt have enough money at the time to do it all right.
