yesterday i bougth a used performance computer chip (superchip brand) at ebay, and i have some question for you guys, first it came out of a 90 mustang it was a manual tranny, i have an a 91 auto convaetible stang, so i ve heard that the 9AL computer is the same in both models (auto or manual) but i want to be sure that i can use this chip in my stang cmputer, and also i want to know what can i expect from this unit.

You should have asked that question before buying....


Generally, e-bay & ecu chips don't belong in the same sentence.
Even if it does work "properly" (and it is likely to work), it won't do very much for performance that you couldn't do yourself...


My opinion is that it's a waste of good beer money :cheers:
 
I wouldn't even bother putting it on the car.

Off-the-shelf cookie cutter tunes are slowly fading away. Nowadays, custom dyno tunes are the way to go. Expensive yes, but worth every penny in customizing the tune for the car and making sure it's safe.

The danger of putting a tune which isn't safe and running lean just scares me away from the thought of an off-the-shelf chip. I'd want to know what it's done to my air/fuel curves
