I've been wondering for a while now that since I found my stock shifter handle in the trunk underneath the spare tire, if the previous owner before me had not only changed the shifter handle but the whole shifter as well. I checked today (after having the car for about 4 months now) and found that I do in fact have a Steeda Tri-Ax Short throw Shifter! Not a bad surprise at all. Question I have now is what else has this guy done to the car that I really would not notice at first, could there be a new chip in there? Pullies? What I'm wondering here is if any of you guys know of a good way to tell if I have aftermarket pullies or not, whether there are measurements, or just what the stock 01 Cobra pullies happen to look like. I don't have a digital camera, so I can't really take some good pictures to show you guys, but IMO, they do look aftermarket after what I've seen on some of my friends GT's.

Dunno what to tell you but man I'm in same boat as you (had my car about as long as you too).

I took my console off to put in my speedcal to correct for gears that the last owner installed. Was I happy to find out the aftermarket (UPR) shifter was in its highest position (fixed to lowest ohh such much better tweaked the stops a bit too) and a alumium driveshaft was already installed On the car woot! Maybe we can get lucky and find some more mods we didn't know about.

you might be suprised. I knew when I bought my cobra that it was lowered, but I later found a C&L MAF, Accufab throttle body, Dyno tuned Autologic Chip, and a Pro 5.0 shifter. The dealer didn't know what he had either. I was certainly suprised.

hmmmm, how would I go about telling if I had an aftermarket chip or not? are there telltale signs and is it easy to get to?
