never had an issue with mine (knock on wood) but mine is older

from my experience, problems with Vortechs is nearly non-existent, other than neglect by owner. I can only remember one instance of a faulty S trim.

good luck getting yours fixed.

I don't have all the info you want...

But my friend Andy has a head unit go bad on his 97 cobra after 3k miles. Blew all the seals, and subsequently overheated the blower and the bearings all went out. Took 5wks to get the blower back from vortech. It was a V2 SQ.

Around the same time another friend of mine had two V2 SQ cars have blowers fail on the dyno at his shop (fresh installs) in the same manor (seals and bearings). Vortech replaced them but took 3-5wks.

There WAS for sure a bad batch last year of V2 SQ's, there is no denying it. Even the tech guy at vortech told my buddy and I when we called that they were "extra backed up" with S-trim warranty work recently.

Personally, my blower seems fine, is a little louder than it was originally, and seeps maybe a tiny bit of oil...but it still holds and makes boost, doesn't grind or whine more than what I would call "normal".

I friend of mine has a vortech V-2 SQ and has to send it back twice in less then 1 year. Both times it had Bad seals and bearings. After the first time he installed a prefilter and still had problems. They did up his warrenty to 3 years. I hope that is it just a few head units because i am in the process of installing mine!

Every supercharger company has a bad bunch of superchargers every so often. Ususlly related to bearings and seals.

I am not sure what happened to this thread... Go away for a day or two and its shut down? Anyway, Frank@Vortech has said that at one point there bearing supplier started using inferior made in China crap. The have since corrected the problem with the good made in America bearings.

He has stated that if your blower is out of warranty and it blows because of these bearings Vortech will take care of you.

Hope this helps!
