i have had my 06 gt for 5-6 months now.the only performance mod so far is a set of flowmasters.i had it at the track recently on track day and was eaten up by the vettes.i want to upgrade the suspension i have eibach sportline springs and anti roll kit.was wondering what you guys have used and liked.maybe poly bushings,or tubular a-arms, tokico adjusters are looking pretty enticing.i am more interested in the twistys than in straight line.i am new to the forum and any input would be greatly appreciated.

Take what you will from this list. I put them in order of importance. Others may agree or disagree.

I am listing things to compliment what you have. Honestly, you could/should do away with conventional shocks and springs and go with a good coil over setup for track day fun. Get it four corner balanced, etc. The list below excludes coil overs, but really that is what you should do.

1) Big brake kit (be sure to change fluid and pads to track spec race day and change fluid afterward)
2) Good front and rear adjustable shock system
3) rear control arms
4) Track handling pack (shorter stiffer springs, stiffer sways, strut brace, adj panhard bar)
5) light weight wheels (only a couple brands out there making 18s that 18lbs or less for our cars, sadly)
6) light weight clutch and flywheel (get revs faster, and reduce load on engine, i.e. lasts longer)
7) bushings kit
8) oil and power steering cooler
9) good race seat with proper harness (yer already fighting the car, why fight the seat in the turns?)

Start with springs and shocks/struts. IMO, the Vettes will be huge competition so don't be discouraged. I was instructing at Las Vegas Speedway and was using a Z06, to make the Mustang run those times would require more than springs/shocks.

I agree with the two previous responses.

Brakes - use good fluid too. I liked AP600 but the Ford heavy duty and ATE are pretty good too.

Shocks
Seat
Various fluid coolers
Wheels and tires

If you get serious about it, do a cage.

I wouldn't get too crazy with mods.
Generally you will drop your lap times faster with more track time then with mods.

A note on trailing arms...
I don't really like the arms with urethane at both ends for road course work. As the car leans they tend to bind a bit and make the car feel like it has a larger rear sway bar then it does. If you decide you need trailing arms I would get one with a spherical rod end at atleast one end.

Yes, driving skill gained from just running at the track is the best mod you can do.

Never forget it's the driver more than the car, especially early in your "career". This is why you *can* see underpowered and even heavy cars running better times at the track than more "prepped" cars. ;)

Just remember to have fun!

i dont plan on going to crazy with the mods.would like to upgrade the suspension a bit, wheels, tires and brakes( of course more horsepower is wanted), but i would really like to drop the weight of the car without doing anything too drastic.i know that practice would help more than anything but those vettes are missiles on the road courses.want to even it up a little.and oh yeah it was at nashville superspeedway,on the road course there.
