I've read old posts on here until my eyes started bleeding, but I want to see what kind of responses I can get. Once I get my car back this week, I'm going to start placing orders for some suspenion things, and I would like to get some second opinions on a few things.

Shocks/Struts: I've been sold on getting Bilsteins for years. Probably the HDs from somewhere like maximum motorsports.

Springs: I was looking into getting the Eibach Sportlines, but I've seen more cases of sagging than I would like so I'm thinking of getting the H & R springs since people seem to be loving those.

C/C Plates: Would like to get the 4-Bolt steel plates from MM... I might go with Coil-overs later so the beef would be good to have.

Now to the question about coil-overs. I really wanted these at first. I was just going to order the kit from MM and get it over with, but I've read where some people have had issues with knocking or rattling noises due to their coil-over set-ups. What's the deal with this? Is it only certain kits that do it?

Looks like your on the right track. I too had the sagging issue with the Eibachs on my old mustang. I first went with the H&R race setup, and loved them. I had no issue with them. Until I drove a buddies car with a full MM bilstein coil over kit. I loved that more. I have and he has had no noise issues to speak of. The kit is great. The rears do require a little, and I mean very little bending up near the upper shock pearch. You will see why during the install. You can do by hand if you have a good set of gloves.

You can see on my site the setup I now have. I am more than happy, and just kept going from there. If you do go MM, make sure you use their Bilstein shocks/struts. There are cheaper places to buy them, but MM has a special groove machined into them that allow for proper mounting of the coil overs. If you look around, most people with coil over problems are not using the MM bilstein kit.

To finish here, coil overs give you more spring rate options, and the ability of adjustment. You can raise or lower you car in about a half an hour to suit your needs.

I love the way your car looks with them. Like I said earlier, I was afraid of the noise produce by some coil-over set ups, but if the MM kit is a quality product, I'll be hooking myself up with some COP-52. I also love the idea of having some ride height adjustability.

I also like how your wheels sit up nicely in the wheel well. I have some 18x9 Steeda Ultra-lites with 285/35 Nittos, and as it sits now, it doesn't look like i'll have that nice in-the-well look. I thought I might need a smaller tire, but I e-mailed the guys at Steeda and they said it would fit in the wheel well due to the camber change when I lower it. We'll see ;) I would hate to destroy my fenders everytime I hit a a rough spot in the road.
 
I havent had any noise problem at all. Unless im lucky or like everything else they do MM makes a great kit. The design them for the strut right so thats allways a pro when shopping for them. Plus they come with like 10 more pieces then most cheaper coil overs, like bushings and washers etc. with nice detailed instructions to install.
 
Maximum will groove BE5-6418-H1 shocks for you when you buy coilovers from them. Just buy the Bilsteins from the cheapest place you can find and send them to MM when you are ready. That said, I would also consider other choices like Koni SAs or Koni SA's and 30's in the rear before making your final decision.

Cetainly do not buy Sportlines if you actually care about the handling of your car. Those springs are on the market for people that want to look good and are willing to throw everything else out the window.

They will grove them free if you buy there coil overs, but by the time you figure shipping both ways on shocks/struts that are pretty heavy in the first place, your not really saving much, and you've had to deal with a headache of waiting. Guess it really depends on how good of a deal you can get on them.
