I wanted to do some suspension mods on my 91 hatch. I was looking at sway bars and springs. What else would help my car handle better? Also what brands ?

As far as springs...BBK and Ebach are great reliable brands.

for Shocks/struts, BBK, Tokico, lakewood are good brands.

Of course it all depends what your goals are. Do you want handling or drag..do you care if it is a still ride??

i think he is going for handling unless i read the O.P wrong.
springs will help eibach steeda bbk will work
shocks/struts tokico, bilsteins are good, i have kyb's and im not too happy with them
i want to set my car up for handling and eventually when i can get my bike sold im going with the maximum motorsports coilover kit.
also what kind of budget do you have to work with?

I would do springs, shocks, control arms and body stiffening. The sway bars are already more than adequate from the factory, unless you want a lighter weight set. Shocks will be your biggest decision. I decided to spend the extra cash and go with Bilsteins, and I couldn't be happier with the ride quality. My setup is as follows: H&R sport springs, bilstein shocks, new front and rear control arms (pro3-i for the rear), Steeda front sway bar, steeda front k-member brace, new poly busings for pretty much everything, stock sway bars. I am very happy with the setup. The car rides very nice and handles very well.

If can can afford it, get adjustable lower control arms...get Uppers control arms adjustable too, again if you can afford it.
