Suspension question

monroes=garbage

why waiste money?

What makes you think they are garbage? Here's a better question for you: With his stock suspension, why should he be running shocks that are firmer than something close to an oem damping shock?

why are you asking me, I run the gas adjusts without problems or loud banging noises. He could go with gr2's which arent as firm. The noise and the bang is not from the shock...sorry but its not. Something isnt set up properly on his car.

I think they are garbage because in my buddies shop they have more warranty returns than any other shock.

One2gamble: I wasn't trying to bag on you, I was just posing the question. :) fwiw, when I go over large ruts in the road with my 89 with gas-adjusts it makes what I would call loud banging noises, and by no means is anything installed incorrectly that would constitute it so. The shocks themselves just are very harsh.

Brtnstrns: The "banging" sound you're hearing started when you installed the Gr2's?

well Im just speaking from my own personal car which runs

Gas adjusts with 620's on the front and 5 leaf mid eyes on the back, 1 inch sway bar in the front and a monte carlo bar. I have never heard any banging noises so I still dont think its the shock unless they are somehow bottoming out which is doubtful since I dont think his car is slammed. Though i dont disagree it is possible that the car is basically bouncing on the shock causing a reverb through the chassis due to the lack of weight on a 6cyl car + the lack of insulation. I agree with whoever said to throw some pounds in the car and see if it still does it.

It may be his strut rods flexing against the rubber bushings that he hears.

Sorry about the hijak but i needed to know also if the best way to do a V8 swap including suspension is to just buy a kit that includes complete shocks, front and rear sway bars, powder coated springs, and sway bar end link bushings in one kit for like $400? Is that like everything needed for the V8 suspension not including the five lugs? edit- and new leafs, can't forget those

wouldnt this be better in its own thread? Youd prob get better responses that way.

I got the 'complete kit'. Its ok. But I wasnt doing the 6-2-8 change either.
