I think I know my problem, buy I need y'all to give me some confirmation. I have a 97 GT that I bought 2 months ago. It has 54,000 miles. After going underneath, it seems like everything is still stock. (when I bought it off the 50-something, no offense, year old guy, it still had the snorkel in the airbox). Anyway, under hard acceleration in 1st 2nd and sometimes 3rd, I have a creaking in the rear end. Do I need to replace the bushings in the upper and lower control arms? Do I need new upper and lower control arms? Do I need new shocks? Or ALL OF THE ABOVE? Any help would be appreciated.

Polyurethane bushings to replace the rubber, as well as some lithium grease well help with the squeaking.

Thank You. I have puddles of white lithium grease on my garage floor to no avail. I guess I'll have to get those bushings. 40 for bushings or 200 for new lowers (which I think is the problem) with grease fittings??? Tough one!!!

You are so correct Millatime, but I have plenum and TB on order now. Have to wait another month or so for some room on the CC. And, maybe Wifey's approval. HAHAHAHAHAHAH

chances are its the spring isolators...you can get those for 25 bucks i think plus shipping from maximum motorsports...but I would tell the wife you need new lower control arms as well

Will something eventually break or will the creaking drive me out of my mind first?

When your car is making noises, it's basically speaking to you which means it needs some your attention.

You'll probably be fine for a while, and will be driven nucking futz before anything breaks.

It'd just be a wise decision to attend to your cars needs before it leads to bigger, more expensive problems.
