SVO differencs....

ok i dont usually post here, but i'm curious about buying a 4cly motor and upgrading it to an svo style, what are the differences between a regular 2.3 and the turbo versions.....any advice?

Here is a breif list things off the top of my head:
cylinder head
exhaust valves
forged dish pistons
computer
injectors
VAM
You are best off looking for a turbocoupe engine to swap in. They are MUCH more common and already have the engine parts required to run the turbo.

oh it also has a forward offset front control arms...wernt they all a lincoln?

iam sure someoen will chim in and mention all teh differences.

the control arms were longer, but I don't don't think they were forward offset. He was only asking about the engine far as I know.

I'm thinking sometime after finals are over, me, stinger and cougar may have another kansas 2.3 meet. We'll be sure to post the info so you can come too.

I thought they were a forward offset to give it a longer wheelbase for better handeling?

If iam wrong oh well, wouldent be teh first time.

They use standard Mustang fenders...so, you can't lengthen the wheelbase and still keep the wheels in the fenders.

stinger, i'm pretty sure that the fenders are unique for the svo, if i'm wrong i can go to pick and pull and slap some lx fenders on my svo

They are "unique" I suppose...it takes about 5 minutes to turn standard fenders into SVO fenders though. It's just one little wiggle in the metal.

please tell me stinger i gotta put a new set of fenders on the SVO , anyone know where to get a front bumper cover?
