so i was readin the issue of MM&FF which has mike's TT fox in it, and was reading the article about the SVO mustang they built. well in the article it said that they used parts off of various other fords in order to upgrade performance on the SVO. i know the 73mm calipers are already a popular upgrade fro braking, but what about the different control arms, possibly axle housing and such parts to upgrade handling. they used 05+ wheels on the SVO and said the backspacing was very similar, yadda yadda. my point is.... would it be pheasable to swap over SVO control arms and steering parts or anything else to increase performance on a regular fox?

just something that got me thinking.... thanks

It may have been a easy upgrade for Ford to use the parts, but they are not really great upgrades for a V8 Mustang. I believe the A arms do not have a replacable ball joint, so the arm has to be replaced if they are bad. The rear housings are 7.5 housings and no improvement.

The 5 lugs, front calipers, rear disc setup, Koni struts and such are about the only real brake/suspension upgrades that would be worth it on the Fox cars.

I beleive chunks of the SVO suspension was robbed from the early 80's Lincoln Continental. The control arms and spindles are from the '82 continental as well as the entire rear end/brake setup. Only thing that wasn't used was the '82 continental hydroboost system. (i wonder if that can be adapted to our 5.0s??)

Not what i'd call performance, but it worked
