SVT RUMOR NOT TRUE!!!!

Ok guys (for those who care), I called SVT DIRECTLY today and was asking about when I was going to recieve my build sheet. Well at the end of the conversation, I casually mentioned that I have seen ALL OVER then net that SVT is going to be disbanned. They kind of laughed at me and told me yes, it's true about the lightning being DELAYED, but THEY ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!! So I guess I have to believe them over all the internet rumors. They also told me the same thing happened when the focus was canned. So take it for what its worth. This info is from Special Vehicle Team, not some SVT dealer.

Hey, I got this email directly from Bill Gates. They are working on some email tracking system and if you forward it to 10 of your closest friends, you will recieve $10,000. It has to be true because he signed his name to the email and sent it across the interw3b.

And after the SVT Focus was canned, they came out with....nothing! Now the Lightning is canned, and they came out with.....nothing. Only one rabbit left in the hat! At one point in time, SVT had 3 vehicles available, Focus, Lightning, Cobra. Count the number of vehicles they have available in 2005, hint it rhymes with "Nero." You remember the predecessor to SVT? It was called SVO, lasted what, 3 years, 4 maybe. This isn't the first time Ford will have killed off their Special Vehicles arm. I wouldn't count on the SVT Cobra coming back either, at least not with that name, most likely as a "Shelby Mustang Cobra."

actually SVO was what ford used for their racing parts program. they since have renamed it Ford Racing Performance Parts or FRPP for short. so technically SVO is still there, just under a different name since ford had SVE, SVO, and SVT all there. they needed to not have people all confused with the 3.

I agree with tr03machI, They would be silly not to use Carrol Shelby's name now that he is back with them, and the 05's retro body style lends itself to a lot of possibilities.........

Good point.

But dan is a much more reliable source and believable than someone who isn’t well known in the scene and has 30 posts to his her name. He also lists a source that anyone can check out by calling or emailing.

Every rumor out there has been "I heard it from a friend who’s uncles dogs veterinarian knows the night janitor at a ford dealer in Pocahontas Arkansas and he says SVT is going out of business". No one else posts a verifiable link or source other than another message board. Anyone with a telephone or an email account can verify this. It backs up emails I have received back from SVT when commenting on the lighting.

I urge everyone who doubts this to email SVT or call them. Of course some of you are still waiting for the sub $20,000 Gt internet rumour.

Not to me he isn't he lives 4 miles from my house and we work together. What he said is true. The only Time i know of him lying was when he kept his 04 Cobra a Secret from me....although i did the same thing to him when i got my 01

If you say so. Started looking through my old catalogs, and damn, there's one from 1983 that clearly says "Ford Racing Parts" There's another one from 1983 that says "Ford Special Vehicle Operations." So how are they the same? The SVO catalog has two cars in it, the SVO Turbo Mustang and the SVO Thunderbird Super Coupe. The other catalog has engines, suspensions, and parts in it, no cars.

Ford Racing Parts and Ford Racing Performance Parts are two different things. Last time I recall FRPP were selling their SVO blocks, you know the ones the SSO and PRO 5.0 used on their cars.

If it was true, SVT is not going to speak the truth till it officially happens. Businesses, both corporate and local; do that all the time. If any of you have ever dealt with people who control costs at work, you know how much power and say-so they have in a company.

at one point in time there was 4 SVT's. doesn't anyone remember the Contour?
