Swap Eddy intake for GT40 is it worth it?

I have a performer intake actually a Typhoon lower and performer upper, a guy I know has a 91 fox and went to a carbed set up and has a cobra lower and GT40 upper and its nice and clean, and we talked about swapping, which would give better power considering the mods in my sig? And he has a puter for sale too, but its for the automatic, those any good?

Both intakes are pretty much the same from what I understand with the gt40 having a little more down low and the eddy having a little more up top. I don't for sure how the typhoon lower is but it is more than likely pretty even with the eddy. I do love the looks of the old school tube style gt40 intake though.

Check out Tmoss's site he has alot of dyno comparison's on the gt40's vs other brand of intakes it should help a good bit.

here's the link for yahttp://www.tmossporting.com/

That is indeed correct. I suggest you keep what you've got. The Eddy Performer together with the AFR 165's and Steeda 19 cam is a very nice combo, and should give a good even spread of torque with good idle manners.

Well thanks for the responses, I did peek over at TMOSS's site he sure favors the Ford high velocity intakes for the down low torque they make and for a street car that makes sense, BUT, I do like going from 5th to 3rd on the hiway and rev it out, so if my current set up pulls to the limiter and the stock GT 40 chokes at 5000 rpm or so Ill stick with what I got, especially since I have plans for a few more cubes... He sure knows his stuff tho :flag:

Now you could send him your lower intake and really wake up that top end.... I hear that the typhoon intakes really could use some clean up. Tmoss could let you know a little better about that though.

I had to clean the Typhoon with a dremel as there was a lot of casting flash.. I would have went Eddy all the way if Id had known better.

If it was my car, I'd definitely keep the edelbrock. I love the edelbrock performer, its a GREAT intake. I went 12.0 at 112mph with it on my car NA. The only way I'd get a GT40 is if the car was destined to be a show car and you planned to polish the intake.

Def cool on the old school looks for sure, and some folks on here have posted pics of polished or chrome GT 40 intakes with A++ looks, One other reason to score one would be to use the lower for a KB 2200  :flag:
