Swapping computer/pcm

my friend is buying a used transmission for his 03 gt (his automatic one died), the used automatic tranny he bought came with he computer/pcm..If he installs it will his odometer change to whatever the donor tranny was or will it stay as it currently is?

First, he does not have to change the ECM for a transmission change.

Second, if he did use that ECM, his car would not even start. In Ford's with the PATS system, the ECM, speedo, key and key transmitter must all match.

Tell him to sell the ECM he got on Ebay or something, but state that it MUST be programmed.
