I've been out of the 4.6l loop for a while, thanks to my 5.0, so I decided it was time for a little more fun, in other words: Boost. I already bought the 3.33in pulley for my Vortech, I just wanted to know what tools are neccesary to do the job, and what size belt would I need.

One more question before I forget, I got the Steeda tuned Ecu, and I remember reading that it didn't need to be retuned I i went with a smaller blower pulley, Am I right?

Well thanks guys and I hope you can help me out

What pulley do you have now ? Do you have an intercooler ? If you still have the stock 3.6 pulley, a 3.3 is a big jump in boost. The 3.3 pulley with a power pipe and no intercooler will make 12-14lbs of boost and will definitely require a dyno tune to be safe. The steeda tune is ok for small changes in airflow but not that much. I also would not recommend jumping to a 3.3 without an i/c or meth injection. Too much heat is produced at that boost level unless the timing is turned down a couple degrees. A 3.4 pulley will make about 10lbs of boost and will be ok w/o an i/c with a proper dyno tune.

Hmm... I have been out of the loop then. I vaguely remember reading that the Steeda tune could handle the pulley swap.

My timing is turned down little so I guess I will give it a try and see what happens, The worst that can happen is that I'll be .

Can anyone else help me with the belt size and if a pulley remover form say... autozone work?

Thanks again

No pulley remover needed. Simply remove the bolt while the belt is still on, remove the belt off the alt and slide off the old pulley, and slide on the new one. Be careful not to drop the key when you slide them on and off. I also put a small drop of medium strength thread locker on the bolt. The belt size is 107.8 " for a tight but not too tight fit. I am currently running a 3.3 pulley with that belt size. I would call steeda before leaning on that setup, your engine is what will get owned if its too lean or timing is too aggresive.
