I am not a total idiot but I am just wanting to study up on before I start my project tomorrow. I am looking for a good tech article with pics on swaping out t-5's. I just want to know what to look for tomorrow so I be able to get it done quickly. Also is there any tips that you guys might have in helping me do this project. I am going to be pretty much swapping out my old tranny (t-5) for a new one, so it will be pretty much a bolt on job. I am planning on just leaving the bellhousing attached to the motor so I don't have to mess with the clutch stuff. but I have heard that it is kinda hard to get the bolts loose from the transmission to the bellhousing, because of the lack of space. Any help or tips would be appreciated. thanks very much

i did mine for the first time 2 weeks ago. same thing, swap in a fresh tranny. really easy and straight forward. i did mine on stands. if your going to be working on your can its a good idea to get a manual. it can answer alot of questions you might have. the hardest part was the two top bolts from the tranny to bell. i had a friend hold the socket wrench in place while i pulled on the handle. it took a combination of extensions and a swivel. give yourself two days if its your first time and dont rush. i pulled mine out on a friday night and put the new one in on sat morning. if you have any specific questions just ask. good luck.
