The Haynes book says to torque the sway bar end links to 132 - 192 lbs....or something like that. Is that accurate? I keep turning and turning and it feels like that is too much torque for the little nut that is on the end link and I don't want to twist bolt or strip the nut. Anybody have a hint for me? I can keep turning it to get it to torque to 150 or so, but it does not seem right. Never mind, I looked again and it says "in. lbs" not "ft. lbs"
Yep. I load the suspension and torque them till they're tight, and then go a little more. You are squishing the elastomer sandwich so torque specs arent real accurate if the threads are chitty. A locknut helps keep things located (the nuts like to walk off otherwise).
Like JT said, always tighten suspension pieces with the car on the ground. I've misread in/lbs for ft/lbs before too. (once on the camshaft thrust plate! NOT COOL!)
