I'm thinking of retiring my Flows and going to a Bassani catback.
I'll probably keep the stock H-pipe.
I love the deep rumble of the Bassani and hoping for less interior drone/noise.
What differences should I expect?

i know the rule of thumb is: X with straight through muffs, H with Chambered. But Bassani sounds so damn good with an x-pipe. are they chambered or what? i've never seen a cut-out or diagram of their mufflers.

either way, im sure you'll be happy man. every bassani set-up ive heard has sounded killer

So is the interior noise and drone less with Bassani?

thanks man. so would that sound better with an X or H? i see you're running an o/r X, which is also what i have. are they center inlet/center outlet like the diagram shows? does yours sound similar to that vid that was posted earlier? it sounds like the perfect medium between chamberd muffs and bullet style muffs. Deep rumble yet very mean. i Like it

sorry for all the questions, i just really like that sound.

oh one more thing. do you know of anyplace where you can buy just the mufflers? ive already got a SS cat-back made for Center I/O mufflers, so i cant justify spending $700 on a new cat-back. (still love my SLP though)

Since you already have the o/r X, keep it. It would sound better with bassani anyway. They are center inlet/center outlet. Mine sound almost exactly like the car in the vid. I like the sound at idle more than anything and it is loud when you get on it.

I love my setup...I get compliments from everyone including ricers on the sound of the Bassani. It's got such a deep sound, and to quote a couple people, "That's how an American V-8 should sound". Although my only complaint is that I get bad gas mileage due to the fact that the sound is so intoxicating that I can't help but get on it every chance I get just to hear it rumble!

so would you agree with the statement that some have made:

its got a deep muscle car rumble down low, but has hints of a nascar in the higher rpms. you know, like its the perfect medium between chambered and straight through mufflers?

Absolutely. It has a nice, calm idle; normal driving sounds great, but every morning I crack my window down just to hear it echoing off of the concrete median on the freeway. I've never heard exhaust like it. Most other exhaust sounds like it just gets louder, whereas Bassani almost goes thru mood swings. It's calm at first, then it gets mean then at high rpms it sounds like, well, bada$$.
I was talking to a guy at work today about getting exhaust for his WRX STi...yes exhaust gives you a little hp increase, but you hear it when you first start the car and when you finally shut it off. There's a lot of satisfaction in that. I know that it is pretty expensive, but hearing it every morning when I first start 'er up makes it all worth while.

Is it louder than the car in the video since you have an O/R X-Pipe instead of a catted one? VIDEO PLEASE

I actually have the catted x-pipe but it's still decently loud. The Bassani x-pipe comes with straight pipes to put in place of your cats if you so choose. Well, in the spring I did so and it was a HECK of a lot louder, however with the flow thru mufflers and now no cats I had no backpressure which resulted in noticeably LESS power. So between this and a couple pissed off neighbors from the the extra noise I put the cats back in.

sorry to keep bothering you with more questions, but when you had the off-road pipes in was there any noticeable rasp? thats about the only thing keeping me from buying the street comp mufflers. was it obnoxiously loud or just mean, pissed off, in-your-face loud? i used to have the Loudmouth I's, and my II's arent exactly quiet, so i can deal with loud exhaust. the I' were just annoying and didnt sound too great. im not too worried about losing a little low end bc i already have straight through muffs, plus i have 4.10s to compensate. thanks man
