With my POS 3650 trans, I noticed my synchros making noise in gears 1-3. I don't get any grinding while shifting. I know there is a TSB on this problem. I still have warrranty on the car. It's an 04 with 25K. I have an MGW shifter on it and the car has other mods as well. My question is, should I put the stock shifter back on before I take it into the dealer or just leave it as is? Also, should I return the stock tune to the car before I take it in? Thanks.

Yes, I would definately put the stock shifter back on. They may try to say the shifter caused the problem with the tranny. I wouldn't worry about the tune tho.

Make sure you go to a reputable dealer for this TSB!! My buddy took his Mach1 in for this and the car was worse when he got it back. A tranni fuid swap to Syncromesh, got him better results than the TSB.
Fluid level is probably low. It's usually the #1 cause for trans whine and the first thing to check.
