Is synthetic gear lube really needed or would regular gear lube be good enough for an 02 gt with less then 15,000 miles.I am having the 4:10's put in next week and the installer told me to get either one i wanted. Thanks Shane

I personally would recommend synthetic as thats what your car comes with stock in the rear differential. If you wish to go with regular, I guess thats fine too. Just dont forget the friction modifier.

I would probably get some cheaper dino lube for the initial fill, run it for 500-1000 mi, then replace it w/ your good stuff.

while were on this topic... is Red RTV OK to use for gasket material on the 8.8?
