I have a 97 cobra with 94,000 miles on it. My first gear has been rebiult once, and now my entire tranny is in need of something new. It is all around bad right now, every gear is hard to get in and out and first you have to jam it in a few times. SO my question is what do you do, do i get it rebuilt and while im in there put a new clutch in? Or do i get something newer like a 3550, 3650, tko or t-56? The more expensive ways such as the t-56 and the tko are kinda out of my price, in college and dont have very much money at all. So could i rely on a rebuilt t-45 tranny or not? I do have plans in the future to keep adding more mods and make some real power someday. thanks

with the tko 500/600 all you need is a bellhousing and everything can be used. for the 600 youll need a new clutch because it uses a 28 tooth spline while the 500 uses a 10 tooth spline. cheapest it can be done (considering your doing the install) 1500+270+36= about $1806 roughly
